Last Sunday, Maddy and I had the
fun experience of heading to Nebraska's very
own Applejack Festival with
Picture perfect fall day -- nice and cool, but it actually
warmed up quite a bit!
First stop . . .
pony rides!
Maddy decided she was a bit too big
this year -- but we loved seeing those sweet
little ponies!
Kamree rode the smallest one --
named Token.
So cute -- she wanted to bring him home!
We had some kettle corn and headed out to
the orchards to pick apples.
Oh my word -- there were a ton of apples.
Unfortunately -- all 4 of us are a bit vertically
challenged and with no ladders in sight,
we couldn't reach most of them!
So, we started walking --
up and down and
up and down some more til
we found trees with apples we could actually reach!
It didn't take long to fill our 10 pound bags!
Luckily, we found the hayrack ride back or
we might still be wandering around the
orchard!
It was loads of fun!
Now, where are all those apple recipes?

Darling pics of the girls. We have orchards all around our subdivision. I keep buying apples, but I really want to have Josie experience picking them. It's still on my bucket list.
Glad you had fun at the festival! When I pick apples at my parents' farm, my dad lifts me up in the tractor loader.
Just make an apple crisp. That is easy, healthy and quick.
The recipes are on pinterest! Love that yall went together. We adore the Leaders!
This is something we haven't done yet this year... looks like you guys had a good time- vertically challenged.. ha! :)
Looks/sounds like you had a great time. I'm feeling a bit left out these days. I keep seeing a bunch of my blog friends apple picking in the nice cool weather. Unfortunately apples are no where to been seen here in Florida except in the grocery stores. My little one loves apples. He would just adore picking them fresh off the trees. Might need to plan a fall trip up north soon. :-)
Thanks so much for going with us this year. We had loads of fun! Some time in the near future, the girls will be able to pick apples right out of our backyard. That will be fun, however, who will make us that delicious kettle corn?! We better get Chef Daddy right on that!
What a fun day! Logan and I picked apples a few weeks ago. I can't believe I forgot to take my camera!
Very cute photos! Apple picking is a great fall treat (when I am home in Maine, we love to do it too). No apples here in Florida, not cold enough in the winter. We love apple coffee cake and apple crisp. And don't forget the apple pie at Thanksgiving! Homemade applesauce is the best if the apples start getting old. It was fun reading your post! So where was the Apple Jack?
