Is It Always About Shoes or Shall I say Glass Slippers?

When the story is Cinderella, yes, it is often about the shoes or
really I mean, glass slippers! :)
Last weekend, Maddy and I went to our performing arts center to see the
Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway production of Cinderella!

Cinderella - photo from website.

It was fabulous!  The singing, the dancing, the jokes! It had such a fun way of
looking at the story we all know and love and some very funny parts!
It was really quite an amazing performance with a couple of special hidden messages.

At one point, the Fairy Godmother says to Cinderella, ‘If you have a dream, then very soon thereafter you’re going to have to fight for it. Otherwise, how would you know the dream is yours?’
Isn't that the truth!  It also had a message of being kind and generous to
others and that more than one point of view is not only acceptable,
but often a very good thing!

We had great seats in the first row.
It was a perfectly magical way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
If it comes to your city, run, don't walk and get tickets!

Way More Fun Than a Black Eye

First, thank you all so much for your sweet
comments and prayers on my last post re my black eye.
It's improving, though still very colorful.
You could even call it seasonal with purple, green
and  yellow tones!
Hoping it will be totally gone in a couple more weeks!
Anywhooo -- on to more fun topics!

Waiting for the performance to begin -- when did she get so grown up?
Earlier in the year, I heard that Idina Menzel (of Rent, Wicked and
Frozen fame) would be in town giving a performance at our
city's performing arts center.
I checked with Maddy and she was a definite YES
when I asked if we should get tickets!

The concert was last Friday night
and . . .
Idina (yes, we are on a first name basis!) was fabulous!!
She was so very good even though she had a cold and
had to clear her throat a couple times.

Oh my word -- what an incredible voice!
She really bonded with and engaged the audience and was simply terrific!
Our seats were in the 3rd row -- totally awesome!!
Maddy was a little worried about what Idina might
think of my black eye, but I don't think she even noticed it.
It was really a great concert and wonderful Mom/Daughter
time!
We love you Idina!

What Does a Dinosaur Say?

So, what does a dinosaur say??
Jump on the Dinosaur Train, that's what!

The other night, we attended a performance at the Lied Center
of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs Live!

We took along the littles Janie and Walt --
at 18 months, little Harry is just too little this time.
Our seats were in the first row!
It was so much fun!
The animators behind the Muppets were so expressive and a blast to watch!

Janie and Walt loved it!
Maddy was a huge help -- we did the tag team thing --
she was in charge of Janie and I was in charge of Walt!

It was a bit of a late night for the littles, but I'm hoping
their big smiles made up for the later bedtime!
We Love our Lied Center!
