Black & White Wednesday

Here it is Black & White Wednesday already! Check out Lisa's blog for more!

Thank you so much for your kind comments and congrats about the birth of Granddaughter Jane. I'll bet you thought I might have a photo of Baby Jane up today. Wish I did! Unfortunately, due to the terrible, awful, no good, very bad weather we've been having, we haven't been able to get there to meet little Miss Jane yet. To say that we are disappointed is a big understatement. I cried last Sunday when we were supposed to go meet her, but couldn't (that sounds kind of silly now, but I was really heart-broken)! The horrible windy and blowing snow and white-out conditions prevented us from getting on the road. And, although I was so disappointed, at least we weren't one of the hundreds of cars that ended up in the ditch (or worse) that day. Hoping to meet the sweet baby soon. I've heard all kinds of good reports about her and the photos that her parents have sent show her to be an incredibly cute girl with dark hair like her Daddy!

Anyhoo, back to Black & White Wednesday, here is Miss Maddy from December, 2008, reading one of her favorite books. That Junie B is funny, but sometimes a bit naughty!

I love this picture! Her hair looks so sophisticated and she looks like she's leading a life of leisure.

This weather is perfect for curling up with a good book but I am so sorry it has prevented you from meeting Miss Jane. I hope you will be able to hold her and spoil her very soon!

That doesn't sound silly at all... I would have cried, too! I can't wait to see photos because that means you'll have been able to HOLD her.

(And do any of the J's read "Ivy and Bean?" The Tongginator actually loves those more than Junie B., but nobody seems to have heard of them.)

What a sweet "real life" photo. It makes me long for bedtime when I can read a goodnight story to my girls!

Congrats on the new baby girl!!!

Boo-hoo Janet...I will cry with you...I'm sorry the weather isn't cooperating. I know how hard this is, I guess it'll be ever more the sweeter when you actually hold that baby Jane in your arms.

Cute picture of M! Junie B. would be a perfect fit for our family! Our kids have been wild Indians lately! Hurry up, spring! We can't take much more cabin fever around here!

Such a sweet pose!

We have a 21 year old son who is still (hopefully) years away from giving us grandkids but I found myself feeling a weird connection to your story of being unable to travel to meet your newest family member. What a special time for your family and I know it must have broken your heart not to be there immediately.

Hopefully in time for next week's B&W Wednesday!

Love Miss Maddy reading Junie B. Oh how I love that Junie and yes, she is naughty :)
Well, I would be in tears, too, about not seeing the baby. However, she needs her grandmommy safe and sound, so I am glad you waited. I cannot WAIT to see pics of the princess :)
