Would you . . . could you . . . read a book?

Do you like Dr. Seuss? He's not my fave -- too naughty for one thing! However, that did not stop us from attending and celebrating Dr. Seuss week with a reading of The Cat in the Hat at our local YMCA. It was a fun little get-together and short enough to attend on a week night -- I like those! Not only did a wonderful librarian read to us, a craft was also involved and the kids made hats!

They also served some green eggs and ham. Surprising that little Miss Persnickety (when it comes to food) -- loved the green eggs and ham! Now I know what to make for her when nothing seems appealing!

Our friends, Jodee, Carson & Kamree, were there too and Maddy had fun seeing them. We are so thrilled that our Y and the local library puts on such fun events! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss -- but next time, let's have cupcakes!

Thanks so much for meeting us at the Y to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! We had a blast and it was fun going out on a school night! We are such rebels! We need to get the kids together soon. I am signing both up for the Kids Day Out this Saturday!

Hope you have a great week!

I remember LOVING green eggs and ham when we ate it in elementary school. Glad to see Miss Maddy loved it, too. Maybe this will expand to other green foods... you know, like broccoli, peas, green beans. (Umm... yeah... me neither.)

I am so happy to hear that there is someone else out there that is not a fan of Dr. Seuss! I always feel bad about this being a teacher, but I just don't like most of his stuff. Looks like Maddy had a great time making crafts and eating. I am surprised she ate the green eggs and ham. When I taught preschool, most of my students wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole!

I had no idea that you and Jodeee lives close to each other. I hadn't made that connection. Very cool.

Got to admit Dr. Seuss scares the crap out of me. Always has! Looks like a fun party for the kiddos though. Not one I would want to go to...I'm just sayin';)
