Whoa -- fall is such a busy time of year, isn't it!
I know we're trying to fit every little thing in, especially outside activities, before the wind turns really cold and the snow falls. Funny -- last year at this time, we had snow! Yes, snow! That was the start of a really long, cold and snowy winter.
We are hoping that history does not repeat itself and, so far, so good!
We live in a great neighborhood and every year, we have a fall block party.
It is so fun to see the neighbors and chat with the ones from down the block
that we don't get to see very often.
Everyone brings a dish and we all chip in for burgers, dogs and brats.
The desserts are always my favorite -- yeah, you're surprised by that, right!?!
Anyway, the get-together was last Sunday and, once again, a blast!
[Hamburger Cake - YUM!]
There was a sidewalk chalk contest and a giant pinata too! Holy smokes --
it took forever to beat that thing open!
Truly, it was almost too cute to subject to the beating,
but the kids wanted the candy, so after many, many tries, it finally broke open.
[Sweet pinata -- loads and loads of candy in there!]
And, of course, we have been really busy studying!
Math and timed tests are really trying to beat Maddy down this year.
But, we know that she will conquer it!!

Sounds like a wonderful time! You have a great neighborhood!!
Cute pics of Maddy! We are trying to enjoy this beautiful weather too- while we can!! I heard it is supposed to be a colder than average winter- yuck...
Sounds like you live in a wonderful neighborhood. I long for a bit of that cool weather you are talking about. We don't get anything close to cool until mid-November/December.
Hope Maddy is adjusting well to 3rd grade. I'm certainly not looking forward to the extra workload next year. I can already see a bunch more homework and tests being given to my 2nd grader. :-)

What a fun neighborhood. All those desserts look so yummy. Beautiful sweater on your daughter too. I picked up ribbon over the weekend and want to decorate a few white pumpkins. Your blog was the inspiration!
A neighborhood block party sounds like so much fun! I wish our neighborhood did that. Tell Maddy to hang in there and keep practicing. It will all pay off in the end.
Awesome neighborhood that sounds like fun! (We are fortunate to have one like that too).
Yummy looking desserts. Grace was standing by my at the computer as I read your post...she commented on loving that Hamburger cake!
Hoping Winter stays away for as long as possible. Not ready for it. At all.
Is that a cake that looks like a burger?! How fun!
Love the sweater!

Maddy is so cute! I love her little fall sweater! The block party looks like a blast! The hamburger cake is adorable. Did one of your neighbors make it or did they buy it?
Oh what fun!!! Seriously...I have never seen a hamburger cake in my life! So cute!!!!
What an incredible neighborhood you live in!!! I want some cake!! :) Hang in there Maddy. Math tried to beat me down too... you can do it!!
I SO want to move to your neighborhood, where people know each other- and talk! Imagine that! :) That hamburger cake was REALLY cute!! And of course Maddy- the cutest thing of ALL!
Maddy looks adorable in that cute sweater!! Does it come in my size? lol. And what a creative cake! Tons of icing - now that's my kind of cake. ;)

Looks and sounds like the perfect block party! We just had one ourselves and enjoyed meeting all of our new neighbors! We too are taking advantage of the unseasonably warm wether and getting in every outdoor activity possible.
