Upon discovering the American Girl* dolls, we also discovered their books and so far, we love them! In fact, Maddy has enjoyed them so much, she has been known to read an entire book in one day!
Besides the books on the actual dolls and their "lives",
AG has other books too -- guides, if you will!
Recently, there seems to be a little drama in 4th grade friendships.
One friend is not good friends with another and doesn't like her . . .
"Why are you playing with her and not me?"
"Why aren't you sitting next to me at lunch?"
You get the gist! Oy!

AG to the rescue!
We've found their "Guide" books to be incredibly helpful!
They give real-life examples of friend
drama and how to deal with it, what to think about, questions to ask yourself.
Besides the friend guide, we both think the manners guide is very helpful.
And guess what, these hints coming from a book, instead of a Mom,
seem to be so smart and great ideas!

Thank you so much for this post! I checked out the website, and there are 4 or 5 that I would buy immediately, but not at almost $10 a piece, so I just checked out ebay and they've got them starting as low as $1 bids. Definitely racking up right now, since I've got a 6th grader that can use some helpful hints...
My daughter LOVES the AG books about the dolls. Didn't realize they had other types too. I'm going to go and check them out. We're experiencing those same types of problems in 3rd grade. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of some tough discussions in the future.
Thanks for the heads up!!

Wow! What great finds! Does Maddy want or need anything from the AG Store when we go next weekend? Please let me know. We stil owe you!
Those books are definitely good reads. I made Emma hang onto all of her AG books for Miss Josie. 8th grade has some serious hormonal drama and I'm always thankful that kindergarten is still a happy place where "everyone" can be a best friend.
fantastic resource on how to deal with drama.
Maybe they should put publish books on how to help poor Mom's too! It really breaks your heart when our girls are having friend troubles.

Good to know! I can't wait until my girl is a fluent reader!!!
Thanks for sharing Janet..... What a great way to help deal with the mean girl drama. Sad that it seems to be starting younger and younger.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying your weekend.
xoxo,
Lisa
Oh dear....little girls in school are full of so much drama aren't they? You're such a good mom and right on top of it!
