Counting Down!

Yes, we are counting down . . .
til this LONG, cold, boring,
did I say long?
 month of
January is finally over!

We shopped on cold weekends!
But no, we did not buy  another  stuffed animal!
Just heard that it was the coldest month in 100 years!
I knew it!
Ok, I admit we had a couple warm days here and
there and I was able to get the snow and crud
washed off my big red jeep!

Muffy enjoyed a warm day in the sun!
It was so cold that Connor decided to grow
his hair out!
People --- this is big!
He has shaved his head since he was in high school and
hasn't had a real haircut for 11 or 12 years!

May look short to you, but this
is really long hair for him!
He looks so different and
I had forgotten that his hair is so black!
Don't tell him, but he is kind of a
Mr. Tennis look-alike! :)

Did you see the itty-bitty little sliver of moon
this morning?
Cutest little thing ever!!

I just did some research for you.
Evidently the moon is waning toward a new moon
(the second new moon for January) on January 30!
Get up early to see the little waning crescent moon
for the new couple days!
It will make your day to see that sweet little moon in the sky!

The only warm up we have gotten was yesterday's heat wave of 36. Seriously, I think the words it is not bad out here came out of my mouth as I was shoveling through a foot high snow drift. Yeah it has been bad. Our school is closed tomorrow because temps are supposed to hit -30. I am ready to kiss this month goodbye, however crazy weather man had the nerve tonight to predict more snow in Feb.!

I love seeing pictures of your family. The girls already know that they don't have school again on Tuesday. My husband's school district is closed too. Fingers crossed that the University decides to follow suit. I'd love to work from home on Tuesday. I love winter but this is seriously getting ridiculous. The snow is so deep, Josie can't even walk in our yard without getting swallowed by snow.

This winter can really go away! These cold, frigid temps can leave also. But, really we haven't had hardly any snow at all in our part of the state. The cracks are huge in the dirt right now because we have had no moisture or snow for ground cover. So ready for spring!!!

Love that moon shot- so pretty!! I'm the only one loving the winter weather, I know. I just hate the heat, so I rarely complain about being too cold. :)
