Swimming with Maddy and Mickey

We're roasting here in the Midwest and have been trying to go swimming a bit more lately even though I do hate getting into a swimsuit. I almost feel like I should wear my Spanx under my suit to keep that tummy under control! And speaking of Spanx (I'm not kidding here), but Maddy and I saw one woman putting her Spanx on before she changed into her swimsuit - ouch! Now I admit, I did have one of those "Miraclesuits" one year. I actually think the miracle was squeezing into that suit and that I was somehow able to peel it off after wearing it! Yikes -- it was so snug -- guess that's how it performed the miracle of holding my flabby tummy in -- but it was NOT comfortable. However, my sister did point out that she thought I was looking a bit voluptuous -- so, oh yeah that's what it did -- pushed the flab upward -- not a bad idea I guess.

Another one of my phobias about swimming besides sharks and frizzy hair -- my white legs. The Rickster always makes me feel so good and not self-conscious at all when he says "wow, haven't seen that much white meat since Thanksgiving." Sweet, eh!

Anyway, back to the point of this post . . . I know you're wondering if there is one. We've been going swimming a bit more this summer and I seemed to conquered at least some of my fears -- the white legs, the flabby tummy, etc. Maddy loves to swim and splash about, so that makes it all worthwhile! And if you know Maddy, you know she doesn't go anywhere without at least one stuffed animal. Maddy swimming and Mickey watching, how fun!

Cute swimming picture of Miss M! I hope you didn't ruin your fabulous hair-do from the weekend!

I am sitting her laughing.....

Before Las Vegas, I was whiter than white and did not want to walk out to the pool with my glow in the dark legs...loved the Rickster's comment....very funny!

Seriously....someone wore Spanx under their swimming suit?????

Looks like Maddy had a great time and Mickey had fun watching!!!

Well...if it makes you feel any better...I am sure I have you beat in the white department...very Casper the ghost sort of look going on. I have tried to make my peace with it...but oh how I would love a little tan!!

I HAVE one of those suits that is supposed to suck everything in...and it's all good until I have to pee. Getting the thing pulled down seems to squeeze my bladder...and then trying to pull the wet suit back up...well, I just feel like Ross in that episode of Friends, when he couldn't get his leather pants pulled back up....even Lia was valiantly trying to help me tug on the suit to get it back into place. Exhausting really. SOrry if that is too much info....you just struck a chord. A bitter chord I guess.

Little Miss Maddy couldn't be any sweeteer and it sounds like you are making the most of summer...white legs and all!!

You are just to funny! I'm with ya on wearing a bathing suit. I hate it.

I'm sure Maddy is just loving the time with you and thinks her Mommy is just beautiful! That's really all that matters.

I am laughing too. That is so funny, because it is true too. We all feel your pain. I myself truly did not appreciate my youth, and now I am pining for those skinny legs and washboard stomach of my thirties. As for being white... well, it takes so long for me to get a tan, that by the time I have worked one up, Summer is over.

Now that sounds like a Geoff comment! He is always telling me how white I am! MEN! Now that is funny that someone would actually put on spanx under their suit!
