A Fair Evening

Can you see us up there?? A visit to the county fair was in order over the weekend. My hope was that if we visited the county fair, we could avoid the more expensive and crowded, Nebraska State Fair in two weeks. I'm not sure if that will happen, but it was a lovely evening, so we headed to the fair on Saturday evening. The rides are rather limited -- which is good -- because I am not very brave and luckily for me, neither is Maddy. We went on the Ferris Wheel -- wheeee!! Even that rather tame ride turned my tummy a little bit at first. I kept repeating to myself "don't look down" throughout the ride and that seemed to help.

Then Rick and Maddy went on the Spinning Strawberry- whooohoo!! The rides were fun, but it was Maddy's real goal to win more stuffed animals! Who knows why...since we seem to have about every stuffed animal ever produced! She did win a couple of little ones and the Rickster promised they'd go back again today with Connor to try and win bigger ones. Oh joy! Can you tell how thrilled I am at the thought!! Just what we need (not)! Anyway, it was a fun evening and even a little cool out. Last weekend it was 100 degreees -- this weekend at the fair in the 70s! Not to worry though, I'm sure the high 90 temps will be back in time for school to start in another 10 days --not that I'm counting or anything!

rides are not my thing either but sounds like you had lots of fun. I am with you on the stuffed animals. I think they reproduce when I am not looking!!

I'm with ya on rides. I almost got sick on Dumbo! How sad is that?

Can't wait to hear how many of those wonderful stuffed animals come home tonight :-)

Good for you for even going on the Ferris Wheel! I'm such a chicken and they make me sick to my stomach! :) Thank goodness for the 70 degree weather. 100 degrees at a fair would not be good. :) Enjoy those last 10 days of summer!

How fun!! I love county fairs. Ours here in LA comes in September and I cant wait. We always go at least once or twice while it is here. Always a great time and love the food. I always get a funnel cake and the big turkey leg.

I use to be a huge ride person but as I have gotten older I get sick on spinny rides.

Anwyay glad you had fun!!!

Christy :)

I think I want to move to Nebraska!!! That just looks like fun right up my alley! We almost moved to Council Bluffs Iowa once....is that close to Omaha???

But alas...we are across the country and this samll town gal at heart will still pine for a good county fair somewhere...

Looks like lots of fun!

It looks like a fun evening. I would love the Ferris Wheel - but I can't handle the spinning rides. As always Maddy looks so cute and looks like she is having a great time. Glad you are enjoying nice weather - we are as well. Hope you're having a good week!
