Like many schools, Maddy's class has a letter of the week. This week is brought to you by the letter "
Q" as in
queen,
quiet,
quilt,
quack and so on. And, like many schools, ours depends on parents for snacks at times throughout the year. So, this week it's our turn to bring snacks. When I asked Mad what we should take, she responded, "anything as long as it starts with the letter
Q"! Yikes -- I swear I was awake half the night trying to think of Q snacks and the only Q words I could even come up with are those listed above! Who can think of a snack beginning with the letter Q????
But, I finally figured something out -- we took "Quail Mix" -- a kind of derivative of trail mix! Whew -- what a relief! Bonus -- Maddy's teacher, Mrs. P, is giving me a star for coming up with a snack that begins with the letter Q!! Here's what you need to make your own Quail Mix: popcorn, sunflower seeds, raisins and M&*Ms -- everything quail (and first-graders) love to eat!

Now thats creative! We'll have to try it!
I remember a loong time ago when my son's class had a Q wedding. It was united with the letter U forever. His teacher had it set up just like a real wedding with invitations, a ceramony and reception to follow. I'll never forget it. Most of all the kids sure learned that every word starting with Q then followed with U.
Hope you have a great weekend!
You are so clever!!!! I'm very impressed!
Good work!!! Q is a tough letter but you were able to pull it off!!!
I've gotta hand it to you for pulling that one off....you deserve more than a star!!
How cute, I see that you even snuck in the valentine's themed m&m's.....You rock Jan!!

You are God's gift to the harried teacher trying to teach the letter Q! I would love to eat some Quail Mix, too! Sounds yummy to me! :)
