Cooking -- Always an Adventure!

Miss M and I were on our own a bit this weekend as the Hub was out of town with cboo. They had a great time together and so did Maddy and I. Those of you who know me in real life, know that I not the best cook. Passable I suppose, but really nothing to rave about. Breakfast -- I can make a mean bowl of cereal! But really, I love a poached egg -- I could eat a poached every single day, but that does involve a bit more cooking than pouring the cereal into the bowl and adding milk, so generally grapefruit and cereal win out.

But, I really outdid myself yesterday. I made Erin's pot roast. OH MY GOSH!! It was so delicious! Too bad that cboo ran off to his apt for a Super Bowl Party (though I did make him my famous Mexican dip), but the roast was really, really yummy! Thanks Erin!! Will definitely be making it again!

Sometimes Maddy likes to help in the kitchen. Truth be told, she likes to sit on the counter and watch me or watch the Disne*y channel or Noggi*n and eat chips. Anyway, she has helped on occasion. Here she is helping me whip up some delicious treat. Our favorite thing to make together is cookies. And yes, I do eat the raw cookie dough -- it's delish. Lucky for me, Maddy doesn't like it ... yet!

LOL - Reading that post sounds like our house. Li Li LOVES her poached eggs! She LOVE Eggs Benedict too and her favorite place in the kitchen is right on the countertop. I can't believe how fast she is growing up - it seems like she is such has just sprouted overnight! I always love to pop over here and see her big smile - priceless :D

Okay, I give this child credit here, I just burnt chicken fingers! Really, so way to go!

Cookie dough is the best, don't understand why, but it is, especially chocolate chip dough:))

Darling photos.

Mmmmmmm... I need a new pot roast recipe. I'm going to check that out.

And raw cookie dough - nothing beats it!! Except for the stomach ache a few hours later. But, I tend to feel it is so worth it. :)

And may I just say, I have hair envy looking at Maddy's gorgeous locks. What thick, shiny hair!

I am glad you liked it. And Maddie eating chips on the counter and watching the tele makes me laugh. I wish Libby wouldn't race over every time I pull out a pan and beg me to let her crack an egg! Maddy is so small... Libby is too. Yesterdayn though, when she put on her size 4 chinese outfit and it fit, I realized it is just my reference point. Our family is so tall. Have a great day!

Oh I wish I could get by with just a bowl of cereal in the morning. I bake and eat entirely too much. :) Maddy is so darn cute. Does her hair always look that shiny and nice, my goodness! Love that apron too!
