Out of the Mouths of . . . 1st Graders!

One of the many fun things about having a first-grader is hearing some of her thoughts and ideas and those of her friends. Last week, Maddy took her lunch a few days, which she does quite often. I used to make her heart-shaped sandwiches (yeah, I'm that psycho mom), but lately, she has asked for peanut butter on crackers. So, I whipped some up for her and tossed them in her lunch box with her bbq chips and granola bar. That evening she came home and said that her friend Olivia looked at her peanut butter crackers and said, "Those will make you die!" Obviously, Olivia had heard about the peanut butter cracker-related illnesses and recall. Luckily, Maddy's teacher explained that peanut butter crackers your Mom makes are not the ones that might make you sick!

Then last week one evening, M and I went to Targe*t for a little shopping. We hadn't been there in ages and I was having a bit of withdrawal. I needed some new workout clothes --new year's resolutions, you know! Guess what is right next to the workout apparel?? Lingerie and unmentionables. And due to Valentine's Day (at least I think that's the reason), Targe*t has quite a few in bright red and purple colors -- so lovely! Anyway, while I was looking at the workout stuff, Miss M went and found a bright purple/reddish padded bra, she held it up to her chest and said, "Look, I have big boob*ies!" So funny! Yeah, wish I had my camera for that!

I'm helping out with the Valentine's Day party at school, so will be listening for more pearls of wisdom from Mrs. P's first grade class!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Thanks for the laughs this morning!!! Life really is funny seen through the eyes of a child!!!

I am headed out in search of some new workout wear this weekend...I may stay away from Target until after Valentines....that would surely catch Lia's eye too...although in our family, my niece came home from school calling them "bubbies"...which she must have gotten confused. My sister didn't corrct her and the "nickname" kind of stuck...and you guessed it...she passed it down to Lia...who has a bit of a "bubbie" infatuation...

So anyway....happy Valentines Day to you all...have a wonderful weekend!!!

Kids say the funniest things. I love how they just say what they are thinking and sensoring or being PC is just not an option. I have been walking in a very public place and Mia yells "mommies big boobies" in a very clear voice. Yes I got looks but the worst part was that in the middle of the statement she stood up in the cart and put both hands square on my boobs and grabed them as she was saying it. Yes, a bit embarasing but luckily most people just laughed!! Too funny!!

Maddie is just adorable and I hope you guys have wonderful Valentines Day!!

Oh that is hysterical!! Where is your camera when you need it...a picture of M holding up that bra would have been a riot!

I am sure your face turned about as red as the bra......I learned the hard way with Nick....he has come out with some pretty funny one liners when in or near the lingerie department, so I quickly learned to avoid them at all costs when he was along....now he just gets embarrassed!!

Hope you had fun in school today and enjoy your V Day!!
