Vegas for Kids!

On Saturday, we visited the Amazing *Pizza Machine in Omaha. OH. MY. WORD! The place is what I would imagine a kiddie Las Vegas would be like. Maddy had visited the Amazing place last summer on a field trip with daycare and has been wanting to go back ever since. It's like Chuck E. Cheese on steroids! The lights, the machines, the kids, the noise!!! WHOA! I don't know how he managed it, but the Rickster sat and read a book, highlighting important pages, no less. How he could read in all that noise and flashing lights is beyond me! We stopped back and dropped off tickets with him throughout the afternoon and made sure he wasn't dozing off! :)

There are also some rides, but Maddy didn't want to ride any when there was the chance that she could win tickets and get a prize! There was one "drop a ball" game that wasn't working right and not giving out any tickets. We found a worker to report the malfunction to and he came to repair it and gave us loads and loads of free tickets! Just what little Miss M wanted! The end result was that she had about 350 tickets and was able to trade 250 tickets for a teensy little stuffed animal. She was in heaven! Even though it was not my idea of a fun way to spend the afternoon, she loved it. Before we left, she looked up and me and sweetly said, "thanks for taking me to the Amazing Pizza Machine."

While in Omaha, we also got to visit my parents and see Philip and Catherine for a while! It was loads of fun to see them and chat a bit. Maddy and I made some chocolate chip cookies in the morning and took those along -- a big hit with my folks, to be sure! We also visited a furniture store and little Miss M is getting some new bedroom furniture in a couple weeks! Her current dresser has only 3 drawers and one does not open at all, so most of her clothes have been jammed into two small drawers! Good thing she wears a uniform! It was really past time for something new. She and I are busily cleaning out her room in preparation for the new furniture and hopefully, a better organized bedroom!

It looks like Maddy had a blast at the Amazing Pizza Machine. Carson and Kamree love that place too! It totally reminds of Vegas too, kid style!

Can't wait to see Maddy's new furniture. She must be soooo excited!

See you tomorrow for another Manic Monday at work!

Way to go Maddy! Startin' off young, aren't we? ;0)

P.S. The girls attend a Baptist school affiliated with the church (of course) so yes they have an awesome bookstore, cafeteria, play area, etc!!

How fun....we have nothing like that in our area but I might have to find an Amazing Pizza Machine on one of our Dallas trips....I bet the kids would have a blast!

Reading and highlighting...it's safe to say Rick does NOT have A.D.D. :-)

How exciting...new furniture, I can't wait to see her room when it's all set up and looking adorable! Have fun!

Looks like Maddy had a great time! When we were in Disney we waited until Hannah was asleep before Dad & Trevor headed to the arcade. After three days and who knows how much money, they collected twenty five hundred tickets....enough for 1 stuffed mickey mouse and a barrage of trinkets (that were sent to Hannahs college brothers). Which I'm sure they were thrilled to receive (not). We won't allow Hannah to go in the arcade from her past experience, due to when it was time to leave her 20 minute melt down has still left us scarred.

Hope you have a great week!

Sounds like a fun day. My boys LOVE places like that. The only thing they ever want to get with their tickets, though, is CANDY!

Maddie must be so excited about her new furniture. Can't wait to see it!

Looks like she had a complete blast!!

Nick is the same way, in that he only wants to do the things that get him tickets so he can go up to the counter and cash them in on a junky toy that I could have bought him for less than a quarter of the price we spent on tokens......Can you tell how much I love these places...lol!!
How on earth did the Rickster read??

Along with seeing that big old smile on Maddy's face, at least you got to visit family while in the area!!

Hope you have a great week!!

Maddy's hair is getting long!!! I think I could make out the length of it from behind that huge, proud smile she has plastered on her ticket winning face!!!

I know it wasn't your fave of a way to spend an afternoon..but I can tell by your post how happy you were to make your girl so happy...and hey, the way I figure it...next time you can take a book and let Rick do the game duties!!! Only seems fair....

Wow! That looks like Kid Heaven. Way to go, Maddy!! Isn't it funny how golden those little tickets are? And it takes 1/2 hour to make a decision on the final prize, right? At least that's the way it is for us.

Glad you had a fun weekend!!

Oh, I am so jealous. I wish there was one around here. How fun! I read in your profile that one of your interests was cleaning, then I see y'all are cleaning out and organizing....WE are kindred spirits, my dear. I am probably crazy, but I love cleaning too....and ironing....it's a sickness. I just wish that it would stay done when I'm finished, but with a house full of teenagers, it's a never-ending cycle. Anyway, thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog. That Maddy is growing. I love her teeth! ;) And her long hair! I don't think Macy Li's is ever gonna grow...Well, have a great week!

Hugs,
Rhonda
