Although these photos are not too great, as I took them in a moving car through the window, I loved seeing these energy windmills here and there dotting the Iowa landscape.
My Mother was born and raised on a farm in Iowa and that makes the state extra-special to me. When I was growing up, we traveled across Iowa every year to spend time on the farm. Such fun memories -- feeding slop to the pigs and turning our City noses up at milk straight from the cows! Iowa is truly a lovely state to drive across -- full of rolling hills.
Everything is so green and beautiful right now, but be warned, there is a bit of road construction.
Poor Rickster -- I was constantly putting on my "passenger-side" brake to assist him in driving! :)

Admittedly I've never been to Iowa, but it sounds lovely. I do like the windmills! Are they noisey? Hope you enjoy your trip. Still praying for your sweet mother.
We saw these windmills on the way to Adventureland. I couldn't believe how many there were and how big they were too!
Thanks for sharing your special memory with us!
Hugs, Jill
Iowa is certainly a beautiful state, have driven through it several times. Your mom is still in my thoughts and prayers.
I love these windmills too..my mother-in-law before she passed away always wanted one of her very own on her property...I thought it would have been so cool!

Sounds like a lovely trip. Not sure why we don't have more of those windmills in Nebraska, we sure have the wind for it. I hope your mom is doing okay.

PS- The Family Dollar Store is on N street, stay away :).
Those are always cool to look at. We saw some on our trip from AZ to CA.
Alexa thought they were pretty cool!
My grandpa is from Iowa, but I've never been. It looks and sounds lovely.
I love these too. Even though you were moving they turned out great.
I can relate to the passenger side brake. My hubby loves to tailgate people, although he would never admit he's following too close.....it drives me insane. That countryside where the windmills are is, indeed, beautiful! Well, thanks for always stopping by my blog. I'm working on getting caught up on everyone elses' blogs right now.
Blessings!
How pretty they are......I am always amazed by them myself!!
Hope you had a nice trip.....thinking of you and your Mom!!

Jan- thinking of you and praying for your mom.
Love the windmills- through the window- pretty good! We lived in Iowa during lawschool. I think we would have enjoyed it more if we had a moment to spare. I did not appreciate the beauty then. I do now on visits.
Thank you for sharing your special visits.
