Hydrangea Update!

Remember back in April when I was whining about how my baby hydrangea had been hacked to almost nothing by an over-zealous yard worker? Many of youtold me that hydrangeas are pretty hardy and I could expect it to come back. Well, you were right! I worried that it wouldn't bloom this year, but it has!

Last year after I planted it, I religiously gave it a monthly dose of some special stuff mixed in water (yeah, I'm such a gardener!) so that the blooms would be bluish/purple and not white. Didn't really know if it would work, but look, it did!! I admit that I do baby it and generally ignore every other plant in the yard. But the hydrangea gets watered regularly and it's special dose of whatever to make the soil more acidic.
Isn't it so beautiful! I love it! And yes, I will guard it from the pruning scissors as I think it would have been quite huge had it not been trimmed so much.
