Think I was probably supposed to post this on or just after Ash Wednesday last week. Yes, I am late to the party, as usual! Well, this Lenten idea really spoke to me -- well, that and the fact that the stuff seems to be taking over!
So, I'm working on the 40 bags in 40 days project, and I inspired my sister to join me too. While I haven't taken any photos yet (must remember to do that), believe me -- bags are flying out of the house! Took 4 bags to Goodwill on Saturday, at least 3+ went to the trash and I passed along some weights and weight-holder thingy to a neighbor with teen boys!
Yay! I'm on a roll!!
I also worked at my parents' house on some of their stuff. My job was to clean today and I did that as one of my sisters has done a ton of decluttering there. But, I also bagged up and threw out stuff there. Guess what I found? I think in each of the 3 bedrooms, my Mom had a candy bar stashed in the nightstand!! That made me really smile. She and I totally shared our love of all things chocolate! Definitely felt her smiling down at me today!

What a terrific project you've got going. I am just about to do some of that myself and my husband is going to do a paperwork purge. Yes!
Oh, that is so sweet about your mom. :) I bet that did make you smile.
YEAH your doing it too!! We can keep each other accountable...OOPS I haven't done today's bag!
a girl after my own heart. cleaning and chocolate!! My dad sucked on toothpicks after he quit smoking. whenever I find one lying around, out of the normal way, I think that he left it for me to find

We need to do the same! What is it with all the Stuff? I need professional help! Anyone want to volunteer for a challenged, working mommy (that's me)?

I LOVE this challenge! I did some spring cleaning on Monday - it felt good to offload a giant contractor bag full of stuff. Yet, as i look around - I see SO much more that could GO!
Love that you found candy bars at your Moms - my Mom stashes nutty bars in the freezer...so funny!
What a cool challenge! It sounds like you have made quite a good start!
Love the story about the chocolate and your mom!
I wish I would have been organized enough to do this for Lent-but as usual I was not! So I will live vicariously through your de-clutter and hopefully be inspired! Love that you found your Mom's stash of chocolate-it made me smile! Hope allmis well!
