A Transplant of Sorts!

Maddy and Molly just after Molly was released from the hospital!
Maddy inherited two American*Girl dolls from her older cousin.  She wasn't too interested in either doll until just lately.  At first, I thought the two she inherited were knockoffs, not official AG girls.  :(  There was no AG marking, but there was an imprint of "The Pleasant Company" on the back of each doll's neck.  Upon further investigation, we discovered that AG dolls were started by The Pleasant Company and two she had were indeed official AG girls!

But, woe -- Molly needed an eye transplant as one eye was not working properly and she could not see very well.  No problem.  We sent her off to the AG doll hospital in Wisconsin where surgery was performed last week.  She came through it fine and recovered quickly, returning home on Friday!  She has the cutest little braids and will soon be wearing a jumper just like Maddy's school jumper.

The other girl is Felicity -- we thought she was Rebecca at first.  She is in great shape, but kind of needs a little bit of attention to her hair.  I thought I had hair problems -- she has some extreme tangles going on!!! :)  So it seems we have joined the throngs of AG fans!

Felicity -- hiding in a sleeping bag with her messy hair!

Unfortunately, I don't see any American Girl dolls in Josie's future...sigh. Emma loved her AG dolls and my mother made her the most beautiful clothes. Maddy looks adorable with Molly. Sounds like a trip to an American girl doll store is in your future.

how lucky!! I think it's even more special to have inherited the dolls. Looks like maybe Felicity needs to head to the AG Salon and have a makeov!! I am hoping this is the year for Lucy to get her full size doll!!

I am so glad Maddy is enjoying her AGs. That is some wild hair so I think we better head to the store for a makeover soon. K and I will report back in a few weeks and let you know how it goes! We are planning to get Emily's ears pierced while there!

So happy that Maddy is joining the'club.' Grace has loved AG dolls since she was 5! Sounds like Molly's surgery was a success.

We live right near Middleton where the AG doll headquarters is, they have a couple of big sales twice a year.:)

So glad Maddy has decided to join in the ranks! We've had a couple in our house for a few years now. Natalie is always trying to convince us she "needs" another. My hubby and I are not convinced. ;-)

It always makes me smile when I see children our girls age playing with age appropriate toys. These girls grow up way too fast as it is.

BTW...tell Gail it's totally not fair she gets to live so close to their headquarters. :-)

I love that! We have had a very good AG hospital experience ourselves when a doll that we inherited had her leg amputated!
