Winter Formal - A Fun Cheer Fundraiser!

Winter Formal 2017 - Hollywood Glam!
Every winter the cheerleaders organize,
decorate and put on a fundraiser, known as the Winter Formal!
Every cheerleader and cheer parent is required to "volunteer" and
attend the fundraiser!

When you attend Catholic school, you get your picture taken with the Pope!
It took place last Saturday and was loads of fun!
The freshie cheerleaders had two morning basketball games
to cheer at and then help with decorating in the afternoon with the dance
starting at 8:30 that evening.
Did high school dances start that late in your day??
They sure didn't in mine, but that starting time gave the students
time to go out to eat before the dance.
Lots of kids go to fast food joints --  not some fancy sit-down
restaurant.  Too funny!

Freshman cheer squad -- love these sweet girls! Aren't they adorable!
Most students go stag or with friends and even those
with dates appeared to ditch their dates after
coming in to hang out with their friends!
I was a ticket taker and then a chaperone! :)
In case you're wondering,
no, I did not have to send any students to the "re-teaching" room
for inappropriate dancing!
Probably helped that the school principal
walked through the dancers during every slowish song! :)
The cheerleaders did a great job on decorating and running
the fundraiser and now we freshie parents know what to expect and plan for
next year!

Loved it all!!! Her dress, her friends, the chaperone duty-the re-teaching room... omg, too funny!!! I chaperoned an 8th grade dance once when I was teaching in CA, and let's just say that 80% of the room needed re-teaching. It was HORRIBLE!!! Scott was with me and I remember him looking at me and saying, "I'm not old enough to see some of this!"

Your daughter looked positively breathtaking! I love her dress. In my day, the nuns used to make the rounds thru the dances to make sure all students slow dancing left enough room for the Holy Spirit. Thanks for sharing these milestones with us. It makes my day!!

What a fun fundraiser! You are experiencing so many new things with Maddy this year! Girls are sooo much fun! Love her dress too. I agree that it was perfect! In my day, if we didn't drive to Omaha, we ate at Pizza Hut! LOL
