A Few Favorites!

Hello Friends! Hope you are enjoying some lovely weather! After last winter and the overwhelming amounts of snow and dreadful cold temps, we are enjoying warmer than normal weather this year! Hmmm- I like this better! And, of course, when the weather warms up, it makes me want to share a few of my favorite things!
Last summer, I had these sandals or some just like them and they were THE BEST! Comfy for my old lady feet and easy to get on and off and with a back stap so I didn't slip out of them and fall! I found these on Amazon and just ordered. Fingers crossed they will be just as good as last year's!
And who doesn't love polka dots!!! Maddie and I are obsessed! Anytime we see something in polka dots, we run and grab our sizes! Love these shorty pjs and they will be perfect on a spring break trip to . . . guess where???
Most of you know by now that I L O V E chocolates! Almost any kind will do - though not dark chocolate as that will usually trigger a migraine. I was absolutely delighted to find this Bridge Mix recently. Does anyone remember having this as a kid??? My Mom and her friends used to have Bridge club monthly and when it was at our house, one of the things she always had was Bridge Mix. I still love it and it reminds me of my sweet Mom and her adorable friends playing bridge in the living room.
One more thing -- did I tell you . . . I got a new car -- well, new to me - not brand new! My sweet big red jeep, while still runnning - it has some issues and has been relegated to being an in-town vehicle and is unable to make the drive to see Maddie in Kearney. I got this one the first week she was there as I HAD to get there to see her and didn't want to drive Rickster's older car (too big for me). It's just the sweetest little car- it's a 2019 Kia Soul. It's not big or fancy and I didn't want big, fancy or pricey, so it's perfect! A friend told me it looks like a toaster! It kind of does, doesn't it? I call it a Baby SUV. And, I even got different license plates with the Nebraska Sandhill Cranes. The Sandhill Cranes stop in Kearney every year and it's a HUGE event, so I wanted the plates to remind me that this year Maddie is in Kearney. PLus the blue plates look fabulous with the white car.
And my most favorite -- Miss Maddie!!
What are your favorite things lately?? Please share!

This and That and Hot Fudge Sundaes!!!

Hi Friends -- once again, the month has gotten away from me without my doing much on the blog. I think I've been in a pandemic fog for the last year! But hope the fog is lifting and that everyone is staying healthy and getting on the list for the vaccine. The Rickster and I were able to get the first dose a few weeks ago and our second dose is coming up on Monday. It feels like a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders!
In other news, we moved a desk into our living room so that we can use our computer upstairs (yes, we are ancient and have a desktop). Maddie has a laptop, but she likes using the desktop and is able to easily print things she needs for classes now without running up and down the stairs. Maddie and I amazed ourselves by actually moving the computer monitor, tower, keyboard and printer all by ourselves. We are NOT techy - so that was a huge achievement just getting all the cords figured out and we've been patting ourselves on the back for the last week!
In other news, Maddie was on spring break from classes last week! Unfortunately, the weather was not good and was cold and rainy almost every day! We did run off to a Nebraska treasure known as Morrill Hall - kind of a museum of natural history! It has all kinds of cool stuff and we hadn't been there in years, so it was fun to go again. I remember going there when I was just a schoolgirl - that was a big trip from Omaha! :) Look at the Wooly Mammoth wearing a Big Red Mask! Good Job Mammoth!
We also visited the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. Connor went with us -- he's so sweet and it was so nice of him to drive. Driving on the interstate to the zoo in Omaha gives me extreme anxiety. Like - I would have had to find a route on side streets that would have taken a lot longer. This crazy looking bear thing was in one bear area -- it's a little funky - but fun to see and make Maddie pose for a photo!
We also went into the Desert Dome and Kingdom of the Night -- I'm not really sure why this white alligator is in the dark as it is not nocturnal like the many, many bats that were in the Kingdom of the Night. COVER your head! EEEEK!
Unrelated to anything, today I was remembering the Hot Fudge Sundaes that we used to get at The Tea Room in Brandies Department Store in Downtown Omaha. OH MY WORD -- they were elegant and delicious! And I wish I had one now. Hope you are all have a Fun Friday tomorrow and good weekend. XOXO

Bye Bye March!

Wow -- did March just zip by for you too?
Even though it was a long month with
31 long days, it seems to have
marched by rather quickly!

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile rolled into town --
their license plate  - "Big Bun"

I've had a bit of blogger's block this month.
Just got busy with lots of
little work things -- office-work, housework, yardwork and . . .
homework!
And am afraid I didn't get as much accomplished as I hoped
due to a recurring whopper headache! :(

So happy spring break starts soon and hoping
for a break from the homework -- especially math!
Is it just me or did math get really hard
in the last few years??

Photo from May 2014 - - aren't they adorable!
Looking forward to watching
these 3 little ones on Wednesday night this week
and spending time with them again at
Easter Sunday brunch!
Yum!
